It is exciting to see the growth of netball in countries where the vast majority have no idea what netball is! It was really an exiliarating experience in Stockholm last month to be playing with players from all over the world! Here is a bit about the other clubs we encountered; inspiration for us here in Zurich at least that our club here can continue to grow…

It’s great to see what is possible; and it was good to hear that everyone also started out playing with basketballs, with no marked courts, moving around the city until they found a decent location…

August 21st and 20th saw us in Stockholm for the first Stockholm International Netball Tournament organised by the lovely Stockholmers… we were even graced with some Swedish sunshine. We entered two Swiss teams; made up of players from Zurich and also some Geneva ladies.

Overall it was a fabulous weekend, although for most it was our first experience of playing mixed netball! Well, playing against mixed teams! Denmark won the tournament, which was played to a pretty high standard, but it was a fantastic atmosphere and incredibly well organised!
